Favorite May Cover

Favorite May Cover

Yet another month is ending, so I wanted to write about my favorite magazine cover of May. This time around I chose this Seventeen cover featuring AnnaSophia Robb, star of The Carrie Diaries. I remember seeing her in Because of Winn-Dixie and Bridge to Terabithia when I was younger. I love this cover because it shows how she is growing up, but still remains true to her age. It's beach season, and they put her in this adorable one piece floral swimsuit that perfectly shows off her figure and paired it with a yellow cardigan, a statement necklace, and some cute arm candy. For hair and makeup, they channeled an easy and beautiful beach ready vibe! It's such a simple look, but it definitely grabs your attention because of the welcoming colors and flirty ruffles of the swimsuit. What was your favorite May magazine cover?

What's Up Doc?

What's Up Doc?

When I was growing up, one of my favorite cartoon characters was Bugs Bunny! I loved how he was always eating carrots (my favorite when I was younger) and addressing people as 'doc.' I paired this shirt with high rise shorts and Jordans, then added a moto jacket to toughen the look up a little. I think this outfit would be perfect for a day when you know you'll be busy and on your feet for long periods of time. What was your favorite cartoon character growing up?

OOTD: Brooklyn

I am completely in love with these high waisted pants that I purchased from CharlotteRusse. I love how they can easily be dressed up or down just by changing the styling. I went with a more dressed down look today by pairing them with my oversized "Brooklyn" tee from YesAsia and my knuckle clutch. I wanted a really simple outfit to highlight the pants, so I didn't accessorize. These pants are so comfy and lightweight, so they're really easy to wear during the summer!

Mini Vacation

This weekend, my parents, my little brother and I took a mini vacation to go visit my cousin. It was a fun and relaxing trip that allowed us to see family that we don't get to see that often.

The first day, I wore a black knit top with 3/4 sleeves. I am in love with this shirt because the front is knit, but the back had accordion pleats. I paired it with these white crochet shorts and a bright orange bikini.

We got lost trying to find the resort, but once we found it, we were reunited with our cousin from New York! We really wanted to get massages and facials, but unfortunately, they don't do those services on Sundays. >.> Instead we spent our time shopping and enjoying each other's company.

After eating dinner, I fell asleep extremely early because the 3 hour car ride was so exhausting. The next morning, I woke up early and went swimming.

After hanging around the pool for an hour and a half, we went back to our room to eat breakfast with my cousin. We enjoyed fruit salad, eggs, turkey sausage, cranberry juice, and detox tea (my cousin is a health freak). By the time we finished eating, it was time to pack up and head home. We stopped to get some ice cream, then hit the road.

It was such a short vacation, but the time we spent away was truly relaxing. It was great to get away from everyday life and see family. I can't wait until our next excursion to see family!

White And Black

White And Black

White And Black by l3xiluthor featuring a bracelet bangle

I'm usually all about wearing color and being bright, bold and beautiful, but lately I love white and black outfits. I've been seeing this white and black side slit skirt at work all week, and I think I'm in love with it! I think it's a perfect piece to have in your wardrobe and would look great as a summer resort look. I'd definitely pair it with a front tie tank and black sandals. I added the moto jacket because I'm always cold. I feel like I'm going to be rocking a similar look on vacation this weekend!

Sugar Lip Scrub

My Favorite Beauty DIY

My Favorite Beauty DIY by l3xiluthor on Polyvore

Tired of having chapped lips? Well fret no more because I have a simple diy solution for you. These are three ingredients that almost everyone has at home, so it's not a hassle to create this quick fix. A sugar lip scrub is both moisturizing and exfoliating. All you need is:
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • squeeze of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon water
Simply combine these ingredients together, and use your fingers to scrub it on your lips. Rinse, and apply your favorite lip balm. Easy right? It's great to do this at night before bed so you wake up with beautiful, soft lips.

The reason this scrub works is because the sugar gently exfoliates your lips, while the honey helps them retain their moisture. Honey has many benefits such as moisturizing, as well as protecting your skin from the sun and helping it stay rejuvenated. The water is to help it all dissolve together and not let the sugar be too rough on your lips.

Happy scrubbing~

Combat Boots

How to Style Combat Boots

Combat boots have always been my favorite style of boot and camo print is back, so why not combine the two? I love how people are now wearing camo in the form of jackets instead of pants. I would definitely wear a long chambray shirt over some leggings underneath the jacket. I'd then add feminine, yet edgy gold jewelry to complete the outfit.
