Sail Away

This outfit is the result of me searching around DDs Discounts for approximately 5 minutes! I timed myself to see if I could find something cute and cheap really quickly. I picked this sweater because I love the stripes and the sequin anchor, and it doesn't hurt that it was only $3.99! I feel like it's a perfect transition piece for Fall. In Florida, the seasons don't really change, so we're still dealing with pretty hot weather, but this sweater is both light weight enough to wear in this heat, and warm enough to layer under a jacket when it finally decides to cool off. I also thought that the stripes would work perfectly with these striped calf socks I found last week for $2.99. I found these cute white shorts with scalloped edges for $5.99 after quickly glancing through the bottoms. They're simple, but the lace scallop makes them adorable! To complete the look, I wore my combat boots. I'm starting to love how worn in they look because I feel like combats are meant to look a little more rugged than other boots. While taking pictures, I decided to see how flexible I am, and soon discovered that I should probably stretch a little bit more. Anyways, what do you think of the results of my 5 minute shopping challenge?

Never Say Never

I've never understood why people wear jumpsuits, and I never thought that I would actually buy one. After work yesterday, I was waiting for my brother to pick me up, so I decided to try on clothes just for fun. One of the items I picked up to try on was this jumpsuit. I didn't think I was going to like it because one, it's a jumpsuit, and two, it was a size too big for me. As soon as I tried it on, it was like magic! Everything I've ever thought about jumpsuits went out the window! It's so comfortable and I love the fabric because it's thin enough to not make you overheat, but it's not see through. It's also elegant enough that I could wear it to a formal event. I'm never going to say never again when it comes to fashion. I paired the jumpsuit with these wedge booties embellished with buckles, and my gold mirror belt. I can't get over how comfortable it is; it feels like I'm wearing pajamas!!! How do you feel about jumpsuits?

Grunge

I recently purchased a dark purple lipstick, and it's inspired me to wear something a little more 90s grunge. I wore my black crop top from Forever21 and my black shorts that I bought at DDs Discounts. I then added a plaid button up shirt that I stole from one of my friends. I wore some silver cutout sneakers that are from Karmaloop. They are my first pair of Jeffrey Campbells! I can't wait to purchase more shoes from Jeffrey Campbell because it's my favorite shoe brand. To complete the look I added a body chain from Forever21. I've never worn it before, and I figured now was the perfect time to put it to use. I love this look because I feel like I'd fit in pretty well with all the girls that rocked the grunge look during the 90s.

Bad Girls

A while back, I saw the music video for Bad Girls by Lee Hyori, and I fell in love with the style that she was embodying. I loved the darker makeup and thought that she looked so powerful and cool. When I saw her in the video, I immediately thought she looked like a vixen and wanted to achieve the same kind of look in my own way. I knew this dress would be perfect to accomplish this; it's form fitting, and dark with a pattern that makes it look like it has a lace overlay. I then bought this denim vest from Forever21 because I felt like a vest would toughen up the look a little. Instead of wearing heels, I went with these awesome boots that have a tie detail in the back. To complete the look, I wore my new favorite plum lipstick! It was daunting at first, but I actually love how I look in darker lipsticks~

Crooked

I've always really liked graphic t-shirts because they're like a statement piece. This particular tee I've seen done a million times, but I've never bought it because I didn't think it was worth $20. I even considered making the tee myself using that iron on paper. I was looking around the store after work one day, and I saw this one for $7.99! I grabbed it as quickly as possible. I also like this particular tee because it's kind of like a baseball tee with the sleeves being in a contrasting black. I then decided to pair this shirt with black and white striped shorts and black platform sneakers. I really like this look because it reminds me of a rebellious teenager. I've been obsessed with the song Crooked by G-Dragon lately, so I've named the look after it~
